RENOVATING is the process of improving a structure. Additionally, renovation can refer to making something new, or bringing something back to the original through planning construction and design.
Many people renovate homes to create a new appearance for their home and the processes and services required for renovations are quite specific. Renovations usually require all of the sub-trades that are needed for the construction of a new building. Projects involving renovation require not just flexibility, but a plan that has previously been agreed upon by multiple parties. The planning process will involve feedback from the client, as well as the designer. Part of planning will also entail the collection of any necessary data for the completion of the project and then the project plan will be revised and given consent before continuing with renovations.
During renovation projects, flexibility is often required from all parties to respond to unexpected issues that may and can arise. Projects involving renovation require a budget plan discussed between the client and the designer, the securing of trades to meet the projects requirements and scope of works drawn up for both the designer and the project manager to follow. As an independent designer I have no allegiances to any particular businesses but I do have a professional relationship with many suppliers in the Townsville area because of their services, knowledge and expertise. If you have already engaged quotes and assistance from a particular company, I am happy to continue the design and consulting process with that company and contact.
The Project Manager can either be the client or the designer, but in most cases it is more efficient to work with the designer as the Project Manager – less stress and headaches for the client. The Project Managers role is to supervise contracted workers in the construction of the new interior design, ensuring that everything is up to code and matches the client’s wishes.
